Welcome to our new tenor Jonathan
We’re very pleased to announce that Jonathan Hanley has agreed to become a member of Stile Antico. He replaces Tom Kelly, who leaves us to focus on solo and stage work.
Jonathan sang at York Minster and at Peterborough Cathedral before graduating from the Genesis Sixteen and Monteverdi Choir Apprentice Programmes. He now pursues a busy freelance career as a soloist and ensemble singer with groups including the Monteverdi Choir, Tenebrae, and The Sixteen. He has worked extensively with us in recent months, and we are thrilled that he has agreed to become a full member of the group. Jonathan writes:
“I’m really excited to join the group full time after getting to know them over the past year. It’s such a different way of working to most other singing I do – it’s great to be able to contribute and work things out together. They are a lovely bunch and I can’t wait to get singing together again after coronavirus dies down.”
Tom writes: “I have had the most amazing time as a member of Stile Antico, singing with these world-class musicians in concert halls in North and South America, Europe and here in the UK. Some of my fondest memories of dramatic and emotional yet refined and stylistic music-making come from concerts with Stile, so I am forever grateful to the group for the opportunities I have had with them. I wish them the very best in their new chapter with Jonathan, a fantastic singer and musician.”
