Stile Antico returns to BBC Proms in 10th anniversary season

Stile Antico is delighted to announce its return to the BBC Proms on Sunday 16th August 2015, as part of the of the ‘Sherlock’ celebration. The group will sing music by Lassus in what will be one of the highlights of its tenth-anniversary season. Sherlock Holmes himself is revealed (in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s story The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans) to have written a “monograph upon the Polyphonic Motets of Lassus… said by experts to be the last word upon the subject”.

Stile Antico first appeared at the Proms in 2010, singing its Song of Songs programme as part of the Proms Chamber Music series at Cadogan Hall to great acclaim. The group’s 2015 appearance will be at the Royal Albert Hall, alongside Christine Rice, Jack Liebeck and the BBC Concert Orchestra, and will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
