Ensemble Development Bursary recipients announced

Stile Antico is delighted to announce that the recipient of its inaugural Ensemble Development Bursary will be Fount & Origin, an Oxford-based vocal consort specialising in late-medieval and early-renaissance music.

Fount & Origin stood out from a very strong field of applicants through its enthusiasm for an often-neglected part of the repertoire, its strong academic credentials, and the high quality of its performances. The group will receive £1,500 towards a project of its choosing, as well as coaching and mentoring from Stile Antico over a two-year period.

On hearing the news, director James Tomlinson said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the Stile Antico Ensemble Development Bursary 2019-2021, and we are very excited to work with Stile Antico to bring the repertory which we love to a wider audience. We are very grateful that we have been given the opportunity to pursue wonderful projects over the next two years and would like to thank everyone involved in the provision and awarding of the bursary.”

We are really looking to working with the members of Fount & Origin, and are grateful to the Stile Antico Foundation for its financial support in making this bursary possible.
