New partnership with Decca Classics
Stile Antico is thrilled to announce a new recording partnership with Decca Classics. The group will release a trilogy of albums in the series The Golden Renaissance, marking important anniversaries of three of the greatest Renaissance composers: Josquin (2021), Byrd (2023) and Palestrina (2025).
The group’s Josquin recording, to be released on 29th January 2021, is structured around the superb Missa Pange lingua, which forms the centrepiece of a varied sequence of motets and chansons. Some of Josquin’s best-loved music is included – Ave Maria, virgo serena and Inviolata, integra et casta es Maria – as well as the premiere recording of the chansons Vivrai je tousjours. Two works dedicated to Josquin’s memory, by Hieronymus Vinders and Jacquet de Mantua, complete this sumptuous programme
