Live From London returns
We’re delighted that Stile Antico will once again take part in the wonderful Live From London festival, a groundbreaking series of concerts streamed weekly in superb HD from the Voces8 Centre in the City of London.
The third edition of Live From London opens with performances by Voces8 and Apollo5 on 13th and 14th February, and continues with regular Sunday evening broadcasts. As well as Stile Antico, the series features artists including Dame Emma Kirkby, I Fagiolini, Jonathan Dove, Joanna MacGregor, the Carducci Quartet, the Academy of Ancient Music and the English Chamber Orchestra.
Our concert, to be streamed on 21st February, explores a mouthwatering selection of Renaissance music appropriate to the seasons of Lent and Passiontide. We will sing masterpieces by Byrd, Tallis and Sheppard alongside highly expressive motets by Lassus, Victoria and de Monte, all interspersed with the timeless sound of plainchant. Crowning this glorious programme are the famed Allegri Miserere and Robert White’s heartbreaking five-part setting of the Lamentations of Jeremiah: truly one of the wonders of the Renaissance.
Live From London is a financial lifeline for all the artists involved, whose work has been deeply affected by the pandemic. Buying your ticket or pass directly from Stile Antico is especially beneficial to the group. Season tickets are keenly priced at just £80 for on-demand access to all ten performances from their broadcast date until 30th April, and individual passes are available for each concert, priced at £12.50. Tickets are available via our dedicated Live From London page.
