Stile Antico returns to the BBC Proms alongside violinist Jack Liebeck, mezzo-soprano Christine Rice and the BBC Concert Orchestra to explore repertoire associated with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s musically-minded Sherlock Holmes. The group will sing music by Lassus, since Sherlock is revealed (in The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans) to have written a “monograph upon the Polyphonic Motets of Lassus… said by experts to be the last word upon the subject”.
