Oxford Residency

We’re delighted to have served as the first ever Ensemble-in-Residence at the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, Oxford.

We inaugurated this exciting partnership with the first performance of our new programme The Mystic Rose, which explored glorious music written in honour of Mary, the Church’s dedicatee, on 18th May 2022. Our residency continued with A Garden of Delights on 23rd Sept 2022, and a successful ‘Come and Sing’ event on 12th November 2022, exploring polychoral repertoire from Rome. Our tenure concluded with two events focusing on the music of William Byrd in his 400th anniversary year: England’s Nightingale on 27th January 2023, which also marked the launch of our new disc on Decca Classics, and a further ‘Come and Sing’ day, culminating in a public evensong, on Saturday 11th March 2023.
