Come and Sing: London

We’re delighted to announce that we will hold a Come and Sing day at St Clement Danes Church, London, on Saturday 16th November from 2-6.30pm. Come and explore ravishing music from Renaissance Seville, singing alongside and under the guidance of singers from Stile Antico!

The sixteenth century saw Spain enjoy a Golden Age, and the city of Seville reach its greatest splendour, as the port which served as the ‘Gateway to the Indies’. This vibrant and thriving centre was home to many of the finest musicians of the day, chief among them Francisco Guerrero and his teacher Cristóbal de Morales. During this event, you will enjoy exploring sumptuous Sevillian motets written in honour of the Virgin Mary, sacred works written by Mexican composers, and even music in the Nahuatl language of the Aztec Empire.

The afternoon will finish with a short informal performance for family and friends, followed by a wine reception. Your ticket includes tea and coffee during the break, and a drink after the informal performance.

This event is now fully booked, but you may still fill in the form to apply for a place on our waiting list.

This event is being organised by The Stile Antico Foundation.
