A Spanish Nativity

We are delighted to bring our Spanish Christmas programme to Cambridge on Saturday 5th December.

Our programme draws together an irresistible mix of sumptuous Christmas polyphony and joyful folk influences from the sensual world of Renaissance Spain. Luminous devotional music by the great Spanish masters jostles with classic villancicos (Spain’s answer to the traditional carol) by Guerrero and Rimonte, an exuberant ensalada by Mateo Flecha, and a magnificent retelling of the Epiphany story by Morales, all framed by the crystalline beauty of Tomás Luis de Victoria’s Missa O magnum mysterium.
