Stile Antico believes strongly that education should be an integral part of the work of any professional group, both to introduce repertoire to a new generation and to reach new audiences.
In June 2006 Stile Antico received a generous grant from the National Lottery through Arts Council England to fund two workshops for A level music students in Oxfordshire state schools.
These pilot workshops, linked to a concert in Oxford, were extremely successful, and the group is currently exploring means of expanding this work.
A really insightful course, made really fun for the audience. Was good to hear how to work in groups without a conductor – I’ve never experienced that before and it really worked – I’d now love to join/start a group like this. Thank you! (2006 Participant)
Stile Antico is always keen to hear from schools interested in hosting an educational workshop. For more information, please contact education@stileantico.co.uk
