Yesterday’s lighting of the first Advent candle was our cue to pack our suitcases and panic about the whereabouts of our passports. Over the next few weeks we’ll be taking our Christmas programme A Wondrous Mystery on tour on both sides of the Atlantic.
We begin with a week in the US – our third visit this year – for concerts in St Louis, MO (30th Nov), Kansas City, MO (2nd Dec), Pittsburgh, PA (3rd Dec) and Knoville, TN (4th Dec). We’re looking forward to catching up with old friends in the first three cities, and making some new ones in our first visit to Knoxville! Then it’s back to Europe for three high-profile performances on the Continent: debuts at the Leizpig Gewandhaus (8th Dec), Riga’s Winterfest (10th Dec), and at AMUZ in Antwerp (18th Dec).
Our programe matches our disc A Wondrous Mystery: a glorious, richly scored Christmas mass by the Flemish composer Clemens non Papa alongside traditional old-German carols and motets. As ever, we’ll be blogging on our travels, so please follow our progress on our website (where we will also post concert reviews), on Facebook and on Twitter.
And if anyone is thinking about giving us a Christmas present, don’t forget that you can support us through the wonderful Stile Antico Foundation. US taxpayers might like to know that donations in excess of $500 can now be deducted against tax if made via the CAF America website – see our Support page for details!
