Stile Antico Ensemble Development Bursary
Thanks to the generosity of the Stile Antico Foundation, Stile Antico is currently accepting applications for a new biennial bursary of £1,500, aimed at early music ensembles at the start of their professional careers. As well as the financial bursary, the recipients will be offered coaching with members of Stile Antico, mentoring, and the opportunity to observe the group in rehearsals.
The bursary is intended for an early music ensemble, ideally unconducted, or at least with an interest in developing its members’ collaborative music-making skills. Members of the ensemble should be under 30 years old, and while the group does not need to perform a cappella, it should include at least some singers. The ensemble should be an existing group with an established track record of performances. The bursary is intended to be used to develop the group’s work; suitable projects might include producing a recording, subsidising a series of concerts, offering workshops or other outreach work, or researching and creating new programmes.
Ensembles wishing to be considered for the bursary should compile a group CV; a recording (ideally, a video); a covering letter, including specifics of what project would be funded by the bursary (with a budget); and any other supporting evidence, such as concert programmes, reviews, references. Applications should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org, to arrive no later than midnight on 28th February 2019.
