Stile Antico's third recording has been nominated for a Grammy in the 'Best Small Ensemble Performance' category. This is Stile Antico's second nomination; its debut disc, 'Music for Compline', was named in the same category. Song of Songs has already won the 2009 Gramophone Award for Early Music.

Stile Antico's recording Song of Songs has been honoured at the 2009 Gramophone Awards, beating off stiff competition from The Cardinalls Musick and the Brabant Ensemble to win the Early Music category. The Gramophone Awards are the UK's premier industry awards, and rank amongst the most prestigious in the world.

Stile Antico returns this week to All Hallows, Gospel Oak to record its fourth project for Harmonia Mundi. Our first single-composer disc is devoted to John Sheppard, whose music delighted so many listeners to Music for Compline. Our programme places Sheppard's Latin music, including the mighty Media Vita, side-by-side with his enchanting, lesser-known English anthems.

Stile Antico is pleased to announce its first performances in the US. The group will make its debut with the programme Song of Songs at the Boston Early Music Festival on 12.6.09, repeating it at the Connecticut Festival two days later. They plan to return to the US for further performances later in 2009.

Stile Antico and Sting today launched their latest collaboration, a twelve-date tour of Australia and the Far East, with a performance of Songs from the Labyrinth at the Sydney Opera House. Stile Antico's summer season has come to an end with sell-out performances in Vezelay, France, and Utrecht, Holland. Their performance of The Desire of Heavenly Harmonies at last month's Bruges Festival, which was also sold out, can be heard next week on the Klara radio station in Belgium and through the internet.

Stile Antico's two performances in the Musica Antiqua festival in Bruges have met with great acclaim. They performed music by Byrd and Tallis in the St Gilliskerk, receiving excellent reviews in the Flemish press, before collaborating with Gary Cooper and B'Rock to present Blow's Venus and Adonis in the festival's closing concert.

Stile Antico was honoured to take part in Harmonia Mundi's 50th birthday celebrations in Arles last night. The group performed selections from their recordings for an invited audience at the beautiful Chapelle du Méjan. Their second CD for the label, Heavenly Harmonies, is released on 4th February.

Highlights from Stile Antico's concert with the Rose Consort of Viols at the York Festival last July were today featured on The Early Music Show on BBC Radio 3. Radio 3 listeners have voted to hear Music for Compline during the "Listening Booth" on this morning's edition of CD Review. Extracts from the CD have already been broadcast during In Tune, and the group can also be heard on Radio 3's The Choir and Late Junction and on Classic FM in early February.
